چکیده

River basin management is very varied and challenging due to the competition in water consumption different parts. Therefore, modeling resources uses complicated, time-consuming, essential catchments with a complex hydro system. In present study, was performed for southeastern part of Aras catchment area located Iran. this area, there intense implementation policies increase cultivation need provide environmental rights, which causes lack supply some sectors. demand five sub-basins were investigated using WEAP MABIA model. Four separate scenarios, including reference scenario (S1), priority meeting demands (S2), climate scenarios (S3, S4) under general circulation models (GCMs) based on IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) produced near (2021–2040), middle (2041–2060), far (2061–2080) future periods. Scenarios S3 S4 considered policy increasing efficiency cultivated evaluate response changes demand. The simulation results S1 show that current existing requirements wet years but are insufficient dry area. Water shortage will also rise impact change, especially S4. indicated rate rights deficit three aquifers study significantly comparison S2, requires adoption appropriate achieve sustainable all subsections.

Water resources, climate change and human vulnerability

It is well recognised today that climate change is affecting the Earth’s physical and biological systems, and is expected to do so on forthcoming decadal to century timescales. A need exists for useable predictions of the impacts associated with such climate change, and the likely societal responses to these. This must also be seen in the context of other drivers of global change, and be presen...

Climate change and global water resources

By 2025, it is estimated that around 5 billion people, out of a total population of around 8 billion, will be living in countries experiencing water stress (using more than 20% of their available resources). Climate change has the potential to impose additional pressures in some regions. This paper describes an assessment of the implications of climate change for global hydrological regimes and...
